St. Matthew's Episcopal Church Ministries for Children and Youth

Nursery is a co-operative program that involves volunteer adults and some of our teen-aged parishioners. It is provided as a convenience for parents who wish to use it. All children are welcome during worship, as well.

Sunday School is available for all children from pre-school (aged 3) to eighth grade. We have teams of teachers for each class. Sunday School runs from September to June. Children begin in class and then join their families at worship for Communion. The second Sunday of each month is Family Sunday. There is no Sunday School and the Junior Choir sings the Offertory Anthem.

Junior Choir is available to all children from grades 2 through 8 who wish to sing. Rehearsals are after the worship service during coffee hour. The Junior Choir sings the Offertory Anthem on Family Sundays (the second Sunday of each month) as well as at the early services on Christmas Eve and Easter. Sarah Ambrogi and James McKim are the Directors.

Acolytes is a ministry for those parishioners 4th grade through adult who wish to assist at the Altar during worship. There are training meetings scheduled throughout the year. If you are interested, contact the Rector at 497-2003 or e-mail him at clergy@stmattsepiscopal.org.
